Location of Carrera script
The PO of my car took off the Carrera script on the rear deck lid. I just received a new script and want to place it in the original location. Does anyone know the measurements or could anyone mearsure for me where the Carrera script should be located on the rear deck lid? I would really appreciate it. Oh, by the way my car is a 96 narrow body coupe.
Any suggestion or tips for installation from anyone who has done it other than to make sure the area is clean and dry?

Bet,
While I'm not exactly sure, I believe the correct placement is ~ 100 feet in front of the closest competitor..
If you don't get a better answer by this evening, I'll post the exact measurements from my narrow body C2.

bet,
13 3/4" from the left side of the lid to the leftmost of the "C"
3 3/8" from the bottom of the lid to the underside of the 'e'
If you need a photograph, let me know.

Ok, I guess this is what you get when your Porsche is assembled during Octoberfest...
I never noticed until I took the measurements but my Carerra badge is considerably left of center. That's especially weird since I tend to lean the other way
Here you go:

Thanks Bet... I never noticed the misaligned logo before. Now I can't stop looking at it... Wouldn't you think they'd use a template? It's not even close!
Maybe it was installed on a MONDAY during Octoberfest!

Given that the lid is compound curved,
I had the best luck with a cloth tape
since it lays flat. It can even be taped
in place for final positioning.
H2ONOO - several of us noticed the misalignment at the AutoX in Marina but we just figured the car had been wrecked or something.

Tim,
Now I feel better! I wasn't sure what all you guys were whispering about at the auto-x that day.. That explains it.
Jeff - I think the Turbo assembly line must have the Senior Logo Alignment Technicians. The Cabriolet guys are fresh recruits from VW.
