H&R Trak+ Spacers Holding Water

Hi all,
I installed H&R Trak+ spacers and longer studs on my C4S last year. While removing the rear wheel, i noticed that the water had been trapped between the anodized spacer and steel hub flange causing surface corrosion and making it difficult to remove. Very minor, but it seems that water was held from washing.
My thought is to machine a very shallow radial relief (groove) in the spacer to allow trapped water to escape. This relief could be clocked to avoid any clamping areas.
Had anybody else has a similar experience?
