Cool Skip's Porsche Portal

Hi Folks,

With the recent new member of the family, my Boxster Portal is now my Porsche Portal. I took several pictures over the weekend to show the engine, interior, and several lovely shots of a beautiful Colorado Winter day. If you're a car nut, there are lots of pictures of Porsches and other makes.

Skip's Porsche Portal

Here's one of my favorite shots:

For the geeks like me who are interested, this isn't a real "Portal", it's just HTML as my ISP is pretty primitive. I'm a product manager for BEA Systems, responsible for the WebLogic Personalization Server and WebLogic Portal. I'd love to build something using those products with personalization, dynamic content, etc., although that's a bit heavyweight for a bunch of pictures.

Cheers,

Skip

Hey Skip, great shot, but next time lets see a fully crossed up 4 wheel drift in that gravel lot - much more exciting. I always thought Ansel Adams would have been a better photographer had he used some P-cars in his shots.

Hi alanporsche,

Thanks! It had just over 48k miles on it and sold for $46k. The price on this and a few other Porsches went down by as much as 20% over the past couple of months, with the economy, 9/11, etc. being given credit.

As for crop circles and Ansel Adams, sounds like some sort of conspiracy. When it comes to gravel and drift, well, I am thinking of equipping it with seats, harnesses, and maybe a roll cage. I'm also going to enroll in a driving course and learn to properly drive it. After that, who knows? I bought the car to drive, not to sit in a garage, and it seems like it'd be a blast on a rally course...

Cheers,

Skip

Hi Folks,

My site was a bit too popular for my ISP, so I've set up my own site with more space, more bandwidth, etc. I've also renamed it "Skip's P13N Portal" as I've noticed that few use the word "Porsche" in their sites. I'd like to avoid any legal hassles!

<a href="http://www.skipsauls.net" target="_blank">Skip's P13N Portal</a>

Why P13N? It originally stands for "Personalization", which is geek shorthand for "P" followed by 13 letters followed by "N". You may be familiar with I18N, which is "Internationalization". P13N also works out for things like "PCarFascination", "PCarImaginiation", "P-993C4S-Action", etc. I'm sure that there are several others.

The site has pictures now, including a few new ones of the mods that I'm making to my C4S' interior. I'll be updating it with info, links, etc., and hope to make it a top-notch site for fans of Porsche and other great cars. Suggestions for the site, places where it should be registered, etc. are greatly appreciated.
