Rainwater Leaks
Like a lot of guys I keep my 993 in the garage during most rain storms, but every once in a while I get caught (like returning from an autocross). Imagine my surprise when I found a LOT of water in the rear footwells .... like over a liter! Imagine my further surprise when I found out from a Chambers Porsche Mechanic Boston)that he has seen this before. Of couse he volunteered to seal up the leaks (at big $$ rates)but would not tell me exactly where other than "where the wheels spray it". I tried a hose test last summer with no success but ruled out windshield weatherstrip, sunroof drains, etc.
Soooo ... does anyone know exactly where this water is coming in so I can seal it up with seam sealer or silicone?

Wouldn't surprise me if Herb Chambers (or his son) himself dumped in the water. That place is a RIP off. I have walked out of there with 2 and 3 thousand dollar estimates for my Prosche and BMW, and in all cases, the cars never needed the work. I only go there for warranty work now, and only because it is the only game in town.

By the way, I beleive there are drain holes under the car, you may have lost the rubber grommets that fit in them that prevent the water from back flowing. I would most likely guess the water is coming up from the bottom, not the top down.

Can't offer much help. Friend of mine had a 993TT that he loved, but had a persistent water leak. Dealer and a body shop couldn't find the cause. He eventually sold the car as I remember.
My '95 993 is tight as a drum.
