Default 959 cabriolet?

Is there such a thing? Have a look at this pic in the link...

Didn't think they made a cab in the 959?

There was a firm that built such a thing on an aftermarket basis.

Getty Design in Riverside, California designed a fiberglass kit for 911's years back (it has been "splashed" by a few others as well). That poster car was on ebay some time ago, donor car was some early sc cab I think. I've seen a couple poor projects at Pomona. Not aware of any real 959 cabs.

"Real 959 cabs" that's more what I was referring to.

I couldn't imagine someone doing that to a factory 959....or would they?

Yes, many years ago there was an article on a genuine 959 that was crashed badly and subsequently converted to a convertible.

That particular car was white in colour.

I spose that's not so bad Harold. Better to re-incarnate it into an awesome cab that toss it into the parts bin.

I see your from Singapore...Our white C2 was owned by a doctor in Singapore before being imported to New Zealand.

Harold is correct, a small company in Germany took a wrecked 959 and made it into a speedster / cabriolet with interchangable winsdshileds. I still have the issue of Sports Car International. I still look at it and read that articale from time to time.

So the answer, of course, is no. Just conversions, either before or after being wrecked...or was the conversion the "wreck"? None from the factory.

Bull, I don't think NZ9Eleven or any of us doubted if it was a "conversion" and not from the factory. What we all meant was it was a real 959 that was modified by one of the most premier and elusive auto body shops in Germany and just a 911 cab kit car.

The car in question was for sale in 2013 and is now available again (by Italy's ADR Motorsport -- adrMotorsport.it), including the hard-top:

Odd. Is that a removable Speedster windshield?? Or was it just showing the arrival of some "exclusive" components for the build

Ahh Sports Cars International! I remember reading about the Cizeta Moroder, Ital Design Aztek, Uwe's "creations", RUF's and DP's.
