Mazel Tov. You've had a VERY nice Hanukkah so far... My wife asked me if I want that lightweight brown leather jacket I've been thinking about for Hanukkah. To be honest, what I really want are those aluminum upgrades of the emergency brake handle and shifter, but they are over "our" Hanukkah budget this year due to lots of expensive vacationing coming up!
I'd hate to get that aluminum shifter and realize I like the feel of my stock leather with a bit of aluminum shifter better. I wonder if anyone prefers the stock shifter better? I just like the looks of the aluminum, you know?
Happy Hanukkah.
Steve

Steve,
The new gear shift does feel very different. I'm thinking i just have to get used to this one a bit. It doesn't seem as high for one thing and it feels a lot smaller to my hand. but like i said i think it is a matter of getting used to it.
oh & happy chanukah to you and happy holidays to everyone on the board....
cheers,
boris

Boris: I guess you get used to everything new in time, and then it becomes comfortable like the old one. I'm jealous!
Livefreeandrive: It's always a gas to hear from another Grateful Dead fan who also appreciates and drives 911's. It seemed kind of incongruous when I first bought mine as I thought alot of 911 guys were older and extremely conservative. I now know that to be quite untrue! We used to bring in the New Year by watching the Dead on video from another New Years, listening to them live on the radio or watching them on TV during the classic New Years show at Winterland or the newer venues.
I host a New Years Eve party every year (for the past 12 years or so) and invariably I'll put on the closing of Winterland 79 or New Years 82-83 around midnight to see Jerry and the boys play. This stuff gives me goosebumps.
Peace,
Steve

Boris: Wow - for some reason I thought it was about $600 for the emerg brake and the gear shift. I never priced it separately. Time to rethink some upgrades!
Thanks,
Steve
