Uptheorg,

I used Crystal Clear in Port Chester. They do great work. Also, there is one advertised in Pano in CT that heard does nice work too.

Try The Wheel Doctor in Elmsford, NY (914) 592-7045. Very meticulous and reasonable -- $100 per rim for any damage except bends and cracks.

Jim,

I had my 18" TT wheels refinished (no damage, just cosmetic work) by Wheels Collision in Bath PA. Their workmanship and customer service was absolutely first class. My wheels look like new. Price was a very reasonable $120 per wheel for qty four.

Is there a way to just remove and respray the clear coat? The clear coat has loosened in parts and come off with the pressure hose, mainly where some kid tried to get the centre caps from my wheels! the paint is in good condition.

No way to remove just the clearcoat GabiOsz, most of the clearcoat will come off with the paint. Also, when clearcoat starts to strip, the unprotected paint or aluminium becomes oxidized and needs to be repainted or refinished.

Thanks Derick, The dealer had them refurbed last year just before i got the car, he must have had a really cheap job done, the clear coat is very thin, almost like polyethene.

GabiOsz, dealers always use mobile wheel repair services to repair wheels. This is the poorest way to repair wheels as most mobile repair services use aerosol can spraypaints and clearcoats to repair the wheel, all while doing this outside where dust and dirt often compromises the finish. It's best to never have the dealer repair your wheels; take it to a professional wheel refinishing shop.

Hey Guys,
For those of you that used Wheel Techniques...what was the turn around time on a rim repair? I have one rim that needs some cosmetic love as well...

Thanks All!
Cheers!

Derick, I know what the mobile places are like and I think you may be correct, but the wheels were already off the car when i went to see it, it had some really fat 18" rims on it at the time, needless to say, I went back to the 17" cup wheels, but here is a picture of what they had on it at the time..... a bit OT but quite funny..... and actually the first posted pic of my car, althouth not the best shot....
