Default 3D printed rear speaker mounts

New to the forum. Picked up a 6 speed SY C2 in November. I've done a few little projects to get it cleaned up, paint correction, replaced some door handle seals, bumper plugs, polished the rear signals.

I noticed my rear speaker grills were loose so I investigated and found PO had replaced the rear speakers with some pioneer units that did not fit properly and would not allow the grills to snap in. They had used a mixture of double sided tape and hot glue which made the engineer in my cry a little and I couldn't leave it like that!

I searched the forums and found most had solved this problem but opening up the stock piece with a dremel or other means. Anyway, I decided it was time to put my birthday present to use and mocked up a 3D model to replace the OEM piece allow me to mount the speaker on the underside of the mount and utilize the oem grills at stock height. If anyone is interested in a set for their car please let me know.

Overall very happy with the result and looking forward to more using my printer for more projects like this.

I’m definitely interested...I’m about to mount new Polks in the rear deck and replacing the grills.
How much for a pair?

Hi Rick, I was wondering: Have you done any additional research regarding your Polks vs other options out there? Specifically, I was wondering how the Polks might compare against the HiFi speakers from Carnewal.

That said,I am also very interested in the 3D printed ingenuity, I wouldn't trust myself with a dremel. Will these work with a specific brand/model of speaker only?

Great project! I've only had my 993 a few weeks now and already have a laundry list of interior fixes and upgrades to design and print as well (Fusion360 as well an a CR-10 printer)

How about $45 shipped in the us for a pair? Keep in mind, that these are printed in PLA (i may try abs in the future) so the strength is not going to be on par with the oem part. They are plenty sturdy for the application, the only real risk of breaking them is during handling, the outer edges are pretty thin so one just needs to be careful with them. I'd also recommend only snapping the outer covers on once they are screwed down. The fitment with the grills is quite good. PM me if you want a set I can print them tonight. 2 of these is about 8 hours print time, I used a pretty high resolution to make sure the fit with the grill was good.

These were pioneer speakers, I can't confirm others will fit. What I can do is post a drawing later showing the dimensions of the opening and you can measure your speaker to confirm. Or I could trace it on a 8x11 paper and scan it as a template.

Nice. I was between the CR-10 and the anycubic but thought the cr-10 was a bit big for my office. I've been eyeing a 3d printer for awhile now and price vs. performance has finally gotten pretty good. I've used other printers like the makerbot which was over $1500 at the time and I think this machine will out perform it.

I also love fusion 360. I hadn't touched any cad software in 10 years since engineering school (I'm a salesman now, I just take the documents from the customers and give them to the engineers) and I was able to pick it back up pretty fast. Tons of info on youtube and best of all it is FREE which is amazing for the quality of the software.

I have some other projects planned like a cup holder to replace my cassette holder in center console, phone holder, etc. If you want to print these let me know I'll post the .stl file.

Hey guys, at some point I was going to replace the speakers and put in a small BT enabled amp so I can integrate my phone and music. I remember speakers came in 6.5 5.25 and 4x6 as standard sizes. Is the back ones 4x6s or something else?

Looks like mine were ~6x4. I could easily increase the 3.94" dimension to 4".
