Default Alarm sensor

I have a early 1995 993 with a red alarm light on the driver and passenger door that does not light up. I took out the red light and tested it, which tested good. I connected everything back together and locked the car, but no blinking red light. Any suggestions?

The alarm indicator LED's are controlled by the alarm/door lock control unit.
Did the passenger door lock as expected when you locked the car? If not, your alarm control module might have given up the ghost, or its fuse has blown. The fuse is placed between the two control module connectors, placed under the passenger seat.
Cheers,
Tore

Yes, the door does lock from the passenger door........so are you thinking the fuse underneath the passenger seat?

And I’m assuming the fuse is located somewhere on the alarm/door lock module underneath the passenger seat?

If both door locks operates electrically when turning the key in the lock, the alarm/door lock control module is working.
If so, you might have a wiring problem on the circuit for the LED indicators, or maybe the LED output on the door lock control module is shot for some reason.
Here's a forum thread with some more details: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...-easy-fix.html

Thank you Tore........so, diffently not a fuse? It’s going to be something in the module then? Your best guess on why the red door lights don’t work?........im just trying to narrow down before taking the seat out......thanks again

Is it possible your issue emanates from faulty door micro switch(s)? Otherwise, there may be an open ground somewhere in the circuit as Tore mentioned.

Ninesix9,
How does the door micro switch effect the red light if all my interior lights work? Thanks

You may have already found this thread - but if not, it includes info for tracing the signal back to the control unit connector.

It's on the same circuit... The micro switch in the frunk, the deck lid of the engine bay, the glove box the doors and the clutch pedal micro switch. In order for the alarm to set, all these items must show closed.

Or, maybe I'm thinking of the immobilizer, which your car does not have... maybe I'm just getting old.

I defer to Tore, who has forgotten more than I'll ever know!
