I'm a very satisfied owner of a 2000 Audi S4 (chipped, coil-overs) but have been considering a replacement. I like the styling of the new S4 and, like my current S4, I'm sure it's a great daily driver, especially during the winter months. But at $50k+, it seems to have lost it's performance/$ appeal. And after reading the AudiWorld forums, (un)reliability of the '04 also turns me away. In contrast, my Audi has been relatively trouble free.
I'm now considering replacing the S4 with an early 993 C4S, a car that I've always admired. I'd love to hear opinions/advice from those who own both an S4 and a 993. This would be my first rear engined Porsche. Keep in mind that I only put about 6k miles/year on my S4. My biggest problem may be convincing myself that it's OK to drive my Porsche in foul weather.
