There is no "right" on a Ruf conversion, I preferred the factory Aero II kit that came with the car and don't like the RUF kit. So I didn't convert it.

I contacted dealer directly during auction on BaT to ask some questions, namely about engine, service history, suspension, and tranny. They did a leak down but the results were not great - 9%, 4%, 35%, 5%, 2%, and 13% respectively. Compression was 150, 130, 115, 130, 131, and 126psi. To their credit, they disclosed the general issue (not the particular numbers) prior to auction end, but I was never able to ascertain exactly what was wrong and specifically what they were going to do to "fix" it. The engine makes this car special and when I realized it needed some (or a lot) of work, I decided not to bid. If one is going to drop an engine like this from the car, there is a lot that needs to be addressed "while you're in there" and I suspect the dealer's goal is to get back to running well and sell - can't blame them, that's their business. But if I were to buy this car, as I suspect many on this forum would, you'd do it right and get a fresh engine out of this. Anyway, just wanted to share the specific engine issues referenced in the comments on BaT.
