Default Window regulator broken

I heard a funny noise when closing the door of my car, sounded like a metallic rattling noise. My dealer found that the window regulator is broken. They have ordered a new one and plus installation will cost 800 dollars...

Seems a bit steep, regulator, should be around $300 it's an awkward but doable diy. https://rennlist.com/how-tos/a/porsc...ctuator-377906

From your pictures it is not clear to me as to what part is broken.
I had a regulator fail on my 86' Carrera and just fixed it with a bit of brazing in my driveway. I seem to recall it wasn't a big job.

I think it is more the manpower time which costs. Not cheap here in Switzerland.

It's only a short drive to Germany, not the best time of year though. Christmas markets in Munich?
