Ouch!!! Just adds to my fear of leaving my cars unattended to long in the parking lot. Just had a fellow Porsche club member who had "Nice Porsche" Keyed on his hood while he was at the movie.

What has this world that we live in come to???
If a neighborhood like Scarsdale, NY is not safe for parking your vehicle outside I don't know which town is. Anyone from the Tri-State area would know what I mean. I hope this was just an isolated incident such as a result of a nasty divorce or something....and not a true reflection of the slave mentality that has infested our world.

The car was firebombed!!! I have a tough time calling that just vandalism. And I also have a tough time with the seller claiming to want to sell the car because he felt "violated".

Why wouldn't he use his insurance to fix the car first, then if he still felt violated sell the car? That's what most people would do...

Malcontents are everywhere. Every one of us is fortunate to be free, 21, and living in the USA. Posters on this board are among the most fortunate in the history of man. There are some who feel that society has not given them a fair shake and are angry about it. There are some who society did give a fair shake and they did not seize the opportunity. These people do incense me when I see the vandalism but I do understand where they're coming from.
I was born poor, like many on this board. I seized opportunity and took risks. Built my own company again after losing everything at age 35 in 1981. My point is not to brag but rather that if you get an opportunity and work hard you can do well in the USA.
Along those lines buying this damaged 996 may be an opportunity for those with the ability and foresight to capitalize on it.
