The length of the dipstick - just a little too easy to contact that rotating fan. No, hasn't happend to me yet.

The length doesn't bother me but....I have never owed a car where the dipstick is so difficult to interpret...my 3.2 isn't any problem!

As mentioned elsewhere, pull dipstick and lay on paper towel and you can readily see where the oil level is.

Heck, never thought about what I don't like on my '96 C4S as the "drive" experience is sooo rewarding!

All five seem to be because he bought a driver and to his own point it has become more of a garage Queen. For a garage Queen, you want something absolutely perfect and, because it is driven rarely if at all, you don’t notice much in the way of issues mechanically. So either just drive it or drop the megaton of money needed to make it perfect and leave it in the garage except for shows. Personally I have racked up almost 5000 miles on my 993 since May. Other than a few cosmetic fixes and a set of belts and a couple of oil top ups, it has been as efficient and reliable as my brand new Toyota. I have been debating on storing it for the winter as opposed to keeping it active and driving on saltless/snowless days. I am now leaning toward the latter (the Michelin A/S fires have been great in the cold and the car does not seem to mind the cold much at all.

My two cents (American or Canadian your choice).

The oil change procedure on a 993 is ridiculous. Have been doing it for 10 years and I still get oil everywhere.

Recently had a shop do an oil change on my C4S. If a lift is available, the job doesn't seem to be difficult. When changing the filter up inside the engine bay, the tech first drilled a small hole in the bottom of the old filter to drain the oil, then removed the filter. I have no lift and I'm too old to be crawling under cars anymore.

I truly sympathize for your position here Mark. Many members here need to grow up.

PS......I rarely visit here as I once did and prefer The Miata forums since the members are far less "superior" nor near as snarky.

The angst here is self inflicted fellows. As Mark has pointed out. Under moderate and we get whining and complaints....... over moderate and we get whining and complaints........

Expect participants to act like gentlemen??????????? Yeah that is a failure right out of the box. Some of you drama queens need to grow up......... your inability to do so is NOT the fault of RennList.

Good video, I share his perspective and anxiety. Lots of “get off my (993) lawn” comments, lol.

All of these issues could be resolved with another $150K or so for a mint 993tt. Time to hit the wife up for some cash or get a second job Jakob.
