Default IPOD in 993

I have the Nokia Digital Sound Processing option in my car, and I'm quite happy with it. I would like to begin using an IPOD. What is the best way to connect an IPOD to the CDR 210? I don't care for the FM transmitter - too much frequency loss. I once had a Pioneer CD changer in another car that connected through a wired connection to the antenna. The signal from it was very strong and as good as anything you could here on FM.

Is there anyway to connect it through the CD changer controls? Is there a cassette player that I can replace the entire unit with that will still work with the Nokia sound system? I thought perhaps 993s with the CD Changer option might have in-dash cassette players that I could replace my CDR-210 with, but I've been unable to verify this because no one I know has one. Ideally, there would be some gismo that I could just slip into the CD slot, but I don't know of anything like that. Any ideas? I have not yet purchased the IPOD, but that 's the direction I'm heading in.

I am very happy with the Griffin iTrip (see http://www.griffintechnology.com/pro...rip/index.html). It has several advantages over other FM transmitter products, in my experience (have owned two others):

1. All FM frequencies included, ingenious way to switch frequencies
2. Powered off of the iPod (very important-no batteries)
3. Look and feel-quite small, integrates with the iPod so it looks like a part of the unit
4. Good sound quality for an FM transmitter
5. Two models: one to support old iPods and one for the new models

I'd say get an iTrip, and throw your iPod in the seat. I had one on a cross country drive (including Western Kansas, which only had one broadcast station option--and it was the Jesus station) and loved it.

I also second the endorsement of the ipodlounge site.

The iPod is indeed the best product available, much superior to the Dell DJ and other products, in my opinion.

As far as I know, here are two types of hook ups:
1. An aux input cable to hook up in place of CD changer. This cable has an 1/8" input that you can run back to the interior. If you do a net search for aux auto cable or similar-it should shed light. While there might not be a cable ready made for the 210 or 220-there are companies that will make one for you.
2. An 1/8 to RCA-type cable designed to hook directly into aux plugs behind the head unit. Check these links out.
