Post MONEY OR VARIORAM

HI! just about to plunge into 911 teritory,
scaped up about 30k ( that hurts every time a write that) whitch acording to my research should get me a 96 993 with the right miles over here in england. i've never own one but that doesnt worry me just not sure wether to go for the varioram engined car or save my self a few pounds and get an earlyer car, could anyone please tell me if the exstra 13bhp's worth having or is there other benifits to owning one of the later car's.
I've got to use the car on a dailey basis witch
constitutes about 400 miles a week (NICE)

I see it's your 1st post...welcome to the board. <img src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" border="0" alt="[bigbye]" /> The performance difference that you would notice on a "daily driver" basis is the better low RPM torque that comes with the varioram. The extra HP isn't going to be as noticeable. This is what I hear...as I have never driven a non-varioram car...mine has it.

The ONLY way you'll know if the difference is meaningful for YOU is to drive both versions. You'll find no definitive answer from us.

i assume at that price for varioram it is a LHD you are looking at.

my advice; spend a couple of hundred quid on a decent inspection and buy the best car.

you wont care about varioram or anything else if you need to spend £££ soon after you buy one!

where are you buying?

(well that what I did anyway)

With 30K in the UK you can buy a pretty decent late (ie varioram) 993 - you just need to be patient & look.

Being a fellow Englishman, I am entering the same process as you. I have driven both 96 & 95 993 and honestly really can't tell the difference. I have apted for a 95 993 w/37k for 35k. It will have a PPI done this weekend and will hopefully pick it up early next week. I suggest you purchase the car you like--dont worry about varioram or the 12 h.p. gain, pretty much unnoticeable IMO.
