Default New to me 993 Intro

I've had the car about a month. Apologies for the tardy intro. I need to figure out how to change user name now.

After a few months search and spending far more than I ever thought I would on a 993, I'm back to an air-cooled Porsche. Purchased from Rennlist member. Great person. Really good to work and the car is better than expected. Interior and Exterior are near new condition.

87 911 and a 2013 991 were previous cars. The 991 was a great car in every way but never had any emotion for the car. The 87 I probably shouldn’t have sold. I had rebuilt about every inch of the car and it was a great street / track car.

I want to keep the 993 as stock as possible but am planning some mods out of necessity/wife justification.

Long legs and 993 don’t mix very well so steering wheel position has to change. I have a 993RS steering wheel ready to install as soon as the used clock spring arrives so I can harvest a couple of connectors. Hoping the smaller wheel and eccentric do the trick without additional spacers. (already moved the seat to the aft seat mount location)

I’d like to do an alum/leather shift **** if I can find one. I may do a RS shift **** or C2S **** and try and fab a top to replace the plastic.

Car has HD shocks. The left front was found to be leaking during ppi so will eventually look at suspension. PSS10 or just stay with HD since I don’t plan on tracking this car.

Tramont wheels. I think the RS wheels look great on the C2 so at some point need to find a way to justify new wheels.

Here are the cars, past and present.

Congrats and welcome. Your 87 looks familiar - you in the Seattle or Pacific Northwest area?

Thanks. Yes, I lived north of Seattle when I had the 87. Unfortunately job relocated to S. Cal. 87 had stiff suspension and no AC so didn't think it would work here. It probably would have and could have tracking the crap out of it at willow springs. Oh, well, I'm not bitter.

The car is still in the Seattle area as far as I know.

Congrats on the new purchase. It looks like a wonderful example. Give us some more details/pics ie year, miles, options.
BTW, I have the RS wheel. It’s slightly smaller but not by much. I also just installed the Tequipment alum/leather shifter and handbrake 2 weeks ago. Love it!

That's a great trio of cars. I think you ended up with the right mix of the previous two. Congrats!
