Thanks to all for the info, I have 1 other question: am I better to purchase a low mileage 993 w/ 5-20k miles and pay a premium or pick up one with say 30-40k miles for less money. My neighbor is selling a 96-993 w/30k black/black coupe for 35k. I'm sure I can get it for 32k. He paid 40k for it last year, apparently his wife doesn't like it. However, having owned black cars in the past I,m not sure I want the many hours of zymol to keep it looking just right. I guess if the price is right I can learn to live with it.
Thanking you all again for the info. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

Having just been through a similar decision process, I decided to buy the very best example of a 1998 C2S that I could find (versus a far less costly model or an "entry-level" 993TT).
There is no substitute...."for quality".

"However, having owned black cars in the past I,m not sure I want the many hours of zymol to keep it looking just right. I guess if the price is right I can learn to live with it." Why learn to live with it - get what you want and don't compromise a thing.
