Wire harness Recall in Switzerland
Just got a letter from my Porsche dealer recalling my car for the wire harness exchange. They also said that if I had already done (I did), then they would refund the costs incurred. Finally: problem addressed worldwide.

Hi Phil
My car is ex-Lausanne and i have a couple of questions that you may be able to answer. I have been watching the various threads over recent times and none have addressed these questions...
1. What 993 models are affected. In particular the RS.
2. As the car was one of the 45 Swiss RS' would it have to go back to CH for the harness swap (if required)
I am aware the RS has a different loom (harness) than the C2, but is it plagued by the same insulation breakdown problems?
Best regards

There is information on this forum as to exactly which years are affected.
I am sorry, but I do not know what the situation with the RS is.
How did you get your ex-Lausanne car? It may be that the previous owner got a letter about the problem. Any way for you to find out?

The car was for sale in Zurich in 99. I was living there at the time. I could try the dealer in Lausanne, but from last time i visited, i realise my French is pretty poor. I couls also try the dealer from where i purchased to see if the have any news...

...ha, you should be so lucky. At least French is taught in UK schools. I am going to try ang go through the same process with the OPC in Istanbul....with my level of Turkish it should prove to be pretty entertaining !
