Default C4S advice

I am selling my 2002 red 911 cabriolet. A convertible was not what I really wanted. I will buy another Porsche and am now looking at 993s, particularly the C4S. I feel this car is far more attractive than the 996s.

Is there a difference between different years? Can this car serve as a daily driver, including snow? What should I be willing to spend? There is a very wide range of advertised prices for C4Ss.

6flat,

You can get a lot of C4S information here (especially through the search engine). There are minor differences with the 96 vs 97/98 models. The body, engine, etc. are the basically the same.

As you've already discovered, the price range on these cars vary quite a bit. It seems as if the good ones go from the $45k range and above. I'm sure you'll get some additional good responses here.

Good luck.

Rich

PS: Where are you located?

6Flat,

I have to agree with you 100%. The C4S is the better looking Porsche.

I've had mine for a year now. Drive it nearly everyday and quite often in the rain up here in Oregon. Some would say that a C4S with a PSS-9 suspension and supercup exhaust is not an ideal everyday driver but it is for me. It comes down to what you desire in a daily driver and what your needs in a car are.
Personally I would look to find a C4S in the $45-$55K range. Cars with lower mileage on them can and do go higher than this. Some are advertised near $70K for garage queens.
