Hit a pot hole hard enough to break a PSS9. The fluid leaked out, but it's more than just the seals, the entire thing came apart in pieces. So, I either need to source a single front drivers left or replace the entire system with a PSS10 or KW v3 set (or similar).
Frustrating.
Bilstein said they can't easily fix the old strut, and if they could it might take a month + to get the bits. That doesn't work for me.
I'm open to any ideas on where to source a single PSS9 in good condition, or where/what to replace it with.
Goal is a well set-up car used primarily for the road.
Get ROW M030 springs and Bilstein shocks or Koni if you want a softer ride for street use and part out your PSS9.
There is no need to spend additional cash for your use. Of course you are going to get people telling you that they bought PSS10s or spent more money and it is the best thing since sliced bread but the basis for comparison is lacking.
Reality is that there are very few people who upgraded from a ROW M030 because they feel the setup is insufficient for street use. Most upgrade because they want something better for track.
^ on a set of 100K mile suspension? Not sure shocks are even worth shipping.
full set of PSS9's (4). You may be right but there was nothing wrong with them when they came off my car save for one is missing the adjustment ****. I have a full set off factory RS away bar drop links with maybe 10k -15k miles at most in the same box as new custom links had to be made when the Ohlins went on my car after the PSS9's came off.

I upgraded from M030/HD to PSS10, the difference was real. PSS10 provides more body control along with a more compliant ride. M030/HD springs are harsh on initial hit and then less body control during weight transfers. PSS10 is just a better, more modern system and it makes your 993 feel more modern as a result. Digressive valves, helper springs and well matched spring rates all contribute.
I'm only driving on the street and I really appreciate the handling improvement.
M030/HD is good, but don't be fooled into thinking its as good as PSS10.
^M033 and Konis offers a more compliant ride than M030/HD combo which is probably what you like.
Yes I have PSS9s and wear PS2s instead of Sumis at 3X the price but as Ken has proven over and over again posting track times with these high cost suspension performance, they offer minimal performance gain and law of diminished returns is greatly at play here.
Yeah I'm not sure any of this helps laptimes, but that's not my goal. I want to have as much fun as possible on the street and PSS10 definitely helps me get there .

With the PSS9's being rebuildable, maybe its worth the $200 (shipped) for Analog's set O' 4...
The OP could rebuild the pss9 that he needs and possibly sell the other three tired 9's, for $50 bucks each?
I'm still left wondering how broke, broke is; and if that has a direct correlation on what the definition of is, is?
(W.J. Clinton)
... but none of these ideas has the OP's car on the road tomorrow...
Bilstein will rebuild them for $192/each to as-good as-new.
Unfortunately Bilstein said they couldn't take on my broken one. We sent them some pics and the feedback was "we're not sure we can fix it, and we'll probably need a month or more to get parts from Germany if we could".
I had Koni FSDs with M033 springs on my last 993. That was a silky smooth combination, but I wanted something more sporting on this one.
The PSS9s are coming off. I bought a set of KW v3s from FD Motorsports. They had a great price (lower than I've seen on PSS10s from tire rack) and I figured why not get a Fister 3 muffler and a Goldenrod while I'm at it.

The slope was slippery today...!

Looks like we had a similar day on the slopes...I ordered PSS10s, golden rod/ssk and fister 3's yesterday from FD as well!
