Default Need help - distributor cap

So I got the car on jack stands (first time). I have now replaced the top left side plugs, new caps, new rotors, new coils. Figured it was time for a refresh all around.

Question- I labeled everything. Call it luck but the crank pulley is exactly at what I thought was TDC. Opened up caps and they are pointing at #4. Is that possible? On a positive note belt looked fine and both caps were pointing to #4. Please advise, thanks

will add pictures of mark in a few minutes

Yes, when timing on an older engine e.g. 964 it's a firing order of 1-6-2-4-3-5 where each is 120 degrees on from the previous cylinder so cylinder 4 is one full turn clockwise on from cylinder 1.

On a 964, finding TDC on cylinder one is a no brainer with the valve covers off as it's when you are at Z1 and both cylinder one followers are slightly loose whereas cylinder 4 are solid at the same time.

If you didn't touch the rotor positions or pull the distributor then timing is unchanged.
