You are aware that there are different categories racing concurrrently, right?

Unfortunately the Le Mans website is terrible in English. It's better in French. See the Category breakdowns <a href="http://www.lemans.org/2003/24auto/pages/engages_fr.shtml" target="_blank">here</a>.

In the "CATEGORIE 'GRAND TOURISME' :' LM' GT", the category in which the private Porsche teams were racing, Porsche seems to have taken 6 of the top 7 positions - hardly a bad result! Regrettably, the one position they didn't take was no.1...

I feel a little better now...but I (and many others) would like to see a prototype from Porsche that could take the overall win at Le Mans, is that asking too much? I suppose it is...they have got to get those chili wagons out the door from Leipzeg to the soccer moms of America, and elsewhere.

This is a good discussion and a subject of much contention right now. Rumor has it that Piech has kept Porsche out of Prototype category to let the R8's win and that Porsche has and will continue to have all its money invested in developing new models to expand the line.

Latest comment I heard was that Porsche said that proto wasnt worth it because competition wasnt good enough only VW's.

The die hard fans want this or another venue. Rumor had it they would enter F1 to take on Ferrari....
