power kit vs chip
The 3.8L kit will yield substantial torque increase and comes with a very high coolness factor, while the Rennsport chip just comes with a pretty high coolness factor and gives a good torque increase.
Seriously though, two very different types of upgrades... like comparing apples to oranges.
What's the difference between Gert's power kit for an additional 25-30 hp @$4000++ and a Rennsport chip for an additional 25-30 hp @ $1100+++ other than several thousand dollars?

Hi:
LOL,....Its amazing how the chip numbers grow, yes?
Seriously though, our chips make about 15-18 HP, depending on local fuel and each individual engine. I'd be in "Fat City" if they DID make a 25-30 HP difference,....
The power kit is really the 3.8 RS upgrade and with the right software, its worth 25-30 HP. The 3.8 RS ECU will not start an OBDII car so '96 & later USA 993's need the original ECU re-programmed for that upgrade.
My last comment would be that any 3.6 should get some internal upgrades (valve springs, retainers & rod bolts) to take full advantage of the 3.8 kit. This permits safe operation to 7000 RPM and that,.............makes a difference!
