Post OT: Good daily driver for under $10-15K?

I know this is off-topic but I'm in a dilemma. I sold my 2001 VW Beetle GLX because I need four doors. I now have a gas-guzzling 2003 F-250 Crew Cab and the '96 C4S. The truck I mostly use for hauling my stuff to the beach or making Lowes/HD runs. The C4S is an occasional car. What I need is a 4 door car for daily beating for under $15K (or even better under $10K) that is reasonably new and is somewhat interesting. I could get a 1 or 2 year old Taurus for under $10K but who wants to drive a "rental car" every day?

Any recommendations? Thanks!

I have a honda civic as my daily. I love that car, it runs perfect all the time.

If I had to get another commuter car, I'd probaby get the toyota prius. Similar to the civic, but gets great gas mileage. Should make up for some of the gas guzzling guilt of the c4s and f250.

I bought a 97 Lexus ES300 for $16K a year ago from a dealer with 76000 miles. You could easily find one under $15K today as they are a dime a dozen. There are comfortable, bulletproof (thanks Toyota), look decent, get 26mpg+ on the Interstate at 85mph, and have 200hp.

What will it take to put you in this Mercedes today? Can I have your credit card to show my sales manager you're serious? Let me go in his office and play video golf ... er, negotiate with him a little more on your behalf.

$16.5k ... Rennlist Father's Day weekend special, 24 hours only ;-) ...
