Bill,
Great buy I also inquired about the car after you initial post and it is a great car at a great price, but my wife wants me to stay under our initial budget of $12k

My '02 Jetta TDI gets 40-50 mpg, has great build quality and it cruises as fast I can legally or illegally go, depending on the moment. A dealer here had a used '02 for $17K with 10K miles that probably cost $22K list or $20K actual. I bought mine after speaking with my neighbor who owns a courier service who swears by diesel VWs and their maintenance costs. Good luck !

I have just decided to keep my Honda S2000 and will throw snows on it this winter (LM-22), so there's the totally impractical daily driver, but still fun and reliable. If I ever sell it, I'll buy a WRX. Very good little car.

I'll call when I get stuck.

Great buy on the MB.

On the jetta tdi, I was in the market(helping a friend) and we were able to pick up an '01 with under 30k miles for 13k. It was a very clean car and i am sure she will have it for years to come.

Maybe prices are a bit higher in the midwest, but 17 seems decent, but I wouldn't pay anything more than that!

1993 Honda Accord SE with 2.3 trillion miles on it. Although lately, I've preferred playing chauffer to my wife in her '03 Infiniti FX35.
