Trade 993 for Scud + $$?
Hi guys!
It's been a loooong time! I know we are all Porsche and particularly 993 fans but above and beyond we are car guys. Have you guys had the Ferrari itch? If so, would you guys trade in your beloved 993 + cash for a Scud? Obviously, perfect world would be to have both, but what if you can only have one? Would you consider it or perhaps some here have already done so? For reference, Scuds are hovering (on avg) in the $185k-230k range.
Thoughts?

F430 Scud is like $200K+ for anything decent... a car that will be worth much more in the future..

i am very pleased with my 993 4S to 360 Modena swap.
A 430 Scuderia is just ever so much more so.

I have been fortunate to have a 1996 supercharged 993 and a 2001 360 Modena coupe for over ten years. I drive them both and they are awesome, but different. I am looking to sell the 360 now and hang on to the 993. For anyone interested, go to FerrariChat.com, look in the Ferrari section. My ad is under mr_bock post.

Can you test drive the scud? I prefer my sports cars with 3 pedals but maybe you will like it.

hey how are u man? i was tempted by a 355 gts last year . good guy on LI with other interesring F cars too.
be prepared for continuous stoplight, gas station, and parking lot convos , bug eyed stares and highway showdown attempts.
basically the 993 experience times 10 lol.
have fun searching , not sure if scud-era F-cars are still vulnerable to depreciation .
cheers john

If the Scuderia (any Ferrari for that matter) were as bullet proof as the 993, I'd seriously consider it. To me the added attention - good and bad - would warrant careful consideration.

Speaking from personal ownership experience (not internet rumor and nonsense) I can tell you my 360 has been every bit as reliable and trouble-free as any 911 I've owned. In fact, my 360 hasn't cost much more to maintain over the years than my 993. A few years ago I posted a detailed breakdown of actual repair & maintenance costs of my 360 vs. my 993. There just wasn't that much difference. Yes, the 360 was higher, but considering it was only by several thousand dollars over the length of ownership, the cost is negligible.

I don't doubt your data and / or experience with the 360.
A number of years ago 993 Rennlister, Robin Sun was bitten by the Ferrari Bug and purchased a 360 Spyder. Robin detailed his ownership and DIY service experience on the car.
For him, the Ferrari journey wasn't what he'd expected. Fortunately for you, the experience was much different. No two cars and owners are going to have similar stories about a car, even one as great as a Ferrari.
As beautiful and captivating as the Ferrari is, I'll have to be content admiring them instead of owning them.
Best wishes
