Default Tiptronic to Manual Conversion

Hi:

I was curious if anyone here has done Tiptronic to manual transmission conversion? How long did it take you and at what cost?

Thanks,
Michael

Short and sweet is to just sell the car and find a six speed to replace it as the cost of the conversion and the hammer it applies to the residual value of a now modified car makes such conversions questionable.

The one thing I dislike about the 993 is the stock transmission gear ratios.

May not be such a bad thing to buy a tiptronic car at a discount and install a re-geared/lsd trans.

(If you can do the work yourself).

If you are happy with the stock gear ratios I agree that buying an original manual car would be the way to go.

Curiousity motivated the question and not price and resale value. I have been helping a friend work on his Tiptronic and it got me thinking.

I've heard around $25,000 all said and done. Sell the tip and buy a stock manual

Certainly easier and cheaper than converting a 991 RS PDK to manual But the perceived need is much less. Maybe there are some PTS 993's with tiptronic out there

Nowhere near that much, even with Singer buying all the 6spd cores to put in their tip conversions. For $25k you could do it with gears too.
