Update: Fixed the lever last night using the above procedure. Worked like a charm! Never realized how much thicker Gorilla tape was compared to standard duct tape. I used a 1in x 12in piece of gas pipe.

I absolutely love these seats but i did find one issue.... there is some play in the seat backs, both drivers and passengers. The seat back moves forward and back about 1/4 inch, maybe less. Any idea if this is something that can be tightened or fixed?
