I was going to write "other than the color" , but I thought I had missed something else.

Cool idea, but looks funky to me on a 993. I prefer the real deal

The seat belt set up in the rear looks cabish. More cabs built than targas so ok to sacrifice a cab and probably easier to convert back, and cheaper.

I believe I read somewhere that the factory Targas chassis all started life as cab chassis. And the entire Targa roof mechanism was assembled externally and mated to the cab chassis. No?

Nope, the rear seatbelt setup is definitely not cabish. Cabs have the seat belts coming from the middle of the rear seat and latch towards the outside, reverse of coupes and targas. Also one pic shows the rear sets folded down and cab seats won't do that either. 🙁

If someone offered that as an aftermarket cab top replacement, and it wasn't stupid expensive, I'd consider it. You know, along the lines of a hard-top for the cab with "just" requiring removal of the cab top and using existing attachment points, etc.

Yes. So true. 993 production Targa models begin live as cabriolet chassis's - then fitted with the Targa roof assemblely supplied by IiRC Wabsto AG.
The Targa has the enhanced chassis support structure of the 993 cabriolet.

I believe I'm that "Mike" Opo referenced.
Nice to see the 993 poster framed, as required in any self respecting 993 garage!!
For what's it's worth, Porsche AG's renovation/ wishes facility just outside of Stuttgart will perform a 993 Targa-esq request. It's more common that you'ld think; several to Japan.

Cheers from Vail, Colorado
