2020 NEXT GENERATION 992 SPY PICS & RELEASE
#3766
The seats look similar to the Recaros in my RS5, which weren't bad. The rest of that interior is hideous though. Did GM design that center console? Maybe left over from the cancellation of the Cruze?

I love that in the official pics from the video the black plastic is completely covered in finger prints...

Analog tach and TFT gauges...why?

Why not? Looks pretty good in the Panny / Cayenne, even if the implementation is goofy. And by that I mean the layout of the secondary "gauges" and other info on the TFT screens. In some of the spy shots, it looks like the 992 mimics the 911 gauges a little more traditionally, which is a good thing. The Panny / Cayenne layout is a mess.
Also, the Tach has the quickest movement of any gauge. The only one that really moves fast. By comparison, the speedo is slow and the temp gauges are crawling. By keeping it analog, you avoid the "laggy" look that some digi-gauges have.

As already said, if you’s saw the dash in the new Panamera/Cayenne, you would love it! Waaaaay better than all those “modern” 100% digital dashes!

Agreed. This can be said for much of the 992, both interior, exterior and even the engine. 993 hood which is a nod to the past but modern touches to both the front and rear. A conglomeration of old and new for the gauges. The engine is supposed sound and feel like a 911 yet it is now an 8 speed PDK in anticipation of hybridization. The 911 may have finally reached its awkward stage - are we sure this is not the 13th version?

It is a "test car" so I'm sure will be fixed. But then again, that's what they said about the nubbin

While I don't have an issue with the concept, I don't like that they went back to a 1960s style font/design with the analog tach. Just too retro and jarring against the TFT displays.
Nobody that saw the car early said the 'nubbin' would be fixed...
