Nice job.
Odd, when looking at the two the 992 actually looks like it would be the older model.
Seeing them side-by-side, hands down the 991 looks better.
I'm not a fan of the recent trend with the VW groups designs. The boxy look ain't cool. Retro that should stay in the history books.

That picture also demonstrates how much better the front bumper integration is on the 991.
The 992 bumper looks tacked onto the front of the car and is “ capping “ the nose. The 991 flows so much better in that regard by rising up around the hood and headlights. It makes the bumper cover appear far less obvious.
That 992 straight hood , as cool and retro as it may be just simply doesn’t work well with these modern body cars and I far prefer the rounded hood look in the 991 because it just simply works better with the shape.

It almost seems like Porsche can't decide which way to go with the design of the 992. It harkens back to the past with the squared off hood (similar to the 993) but it is going with a more "modern" (I would call it Tesla-Y) look with the big rear with the big spoiler and big rear tail light, the flush door handles, the oblong side view mirrors, etc. The 991 is a much more uniform design, to my eyes, anyway.

I'm 110% convinced they dropped the ball here. Change for the sake of change isn't good. The whole design is a train wreck.
The once smooth and organic shape has morphed into a boxy generic looking lazy design. Porsche can keep it. I'm not playing.
Goodnight.

It's like here's the assignment:
Bring back some traditional classic 911 elements, but we can't get any smoother so go boxy like Audi and VW. Bring in those millennial designers who don't have a drivers license in. Those VW SUV's look terrible. Box on wheels.
Like going classic and traditional furniture in an ultra modern house. Doesn't work.
If Porsche wants to charge almost 15% more for a bean counters delight, one size fits all model, and optional Alcantara headliner with BIG GULP and Stubby shifter dreams, have at it. Oh, forgot about "The Clam" >> (Archie's credit there) and the fake exhaust tips. Hope the Asian market buys it. I'm not.
The 911 taking huge design cues from a Cayenne, and Panamera?? No thanks. Call it a damn Cayenne coupe then or something.
Sorry for the rant, but it's out now. Done.

The 964 was boxy, and as much of a 911 as its predecessor.

You're right pretty much. Wheel gap is a spring height. I'm sure a 19" tires overall height is less than a 20"? Nothing that would make difference.
Point being, the wheel arches are fine. Even with a 21" tire, pretty close to same height as a 20" I'd think depending on profile height.
