Even if using pneumatic valves, the current GT3 is maxxed out at 9k (maybe a little headroom remaining) due to the forces involved with accelerating the very large pistons through a very long stroke - the forces acting on this hardware are equal to the square of the speed (twice the rpm's exerts 4 times the force).
The 4.0L Flat-6 has cylinders which are too big at 667cc each. To spin faster, we need more smaller cylinders or a smaller displacement Flat-6...
Yes, if you're willing to spend huge amounts on development and be satisfied with a very short useful life, then there are options to spin a 4.0L Flat-6 higher than 9k (but not reasonably)...

You can take that as far as you want. Remember that street racers spin 500+ inch BBCs past 8500 fairly frequently. With steel rods.
Imagine a 3.0, 10,500 RPM six in the back of a carbon chassis'd 911. That would be interesting.

I remember when the first spy pics of the 991 hit the web---I wasn't impressed and thought---Porsche made a mistake....I was wrong, I love the 991 evolution much more than the 997 generation.
Maybe these early pics are hiding a beautiful evolution of our beloved 911---maybe not---early signs indicate a less than ideal change. The front cab does appear awkward---some 993 touches may make this car a beauty and the driving experience may be better--Porsche does seem to engineer a better driving experience with each generation---
Cheers

I really don’t see the point in rushing to a dealer to put down a deposit on a mass production vehicle. The first models will be the 2S and 4S and there will be plenty to be had if patience is exercised.
Since the 992 is expected to utilized a slightly tuned variation of the current 991.2 powertrain, I will be waiting on the reviews before rushing to my local dealer. I will most likely hold out for the GTS model.

You don't need to be on a list for a 992 anyway....unless you are looking for a GT car.

These lists mean NOTHING. Anyone can cut in front of you because they are a preferred customer, offer more money or are a friend of a friend. Go check out the GT3 forum if you want to know how useless these lists are. PAG/PCNA needs to reel these dealerships in to restore credibility.

body looks good, not a fan of the small ****, needs an easily used console mounted shifter for PDK when wheel is turning and you cant reach paddle, the worst out there is the AMG vehicles without a center mounted shifter, I dont like the 5 gauges becoming some gauges and a weird shaped LCD,
