Article out a couple of hours ago: https://carbuzz.com/news/2019-porsch...we-know-so-far
Nothing really new....just a synopsis.

Hard to believe I'm saying this on a 911 board (how times have changed), but Chevy showing that a "rudimentary" (read: characterful) naturally aspirated sedan-based coupe can show its fair share of true sports cars how its done (and I'm not just talking about "stat performance"), is something to behold. I can't say I got beef with the Camaro anymore (as I did back in the day, minus the glorious pre-80's iterations). It's an enticing package.

agree on both.
The sight lines are particularly bad. Yes it gets a better crash rating, but the windows are like looking out of tank, a tiny space that’s rather high up. I can’t imagine you could even rest your arm comfortably on the window while driving.

A new one. Thanks!
Looks like the mule with a wrap.

Speaking of greenhouses.... it's very clear in that article's new pic that the greenhouse will be slightly shallower than the 991's (as if it wasn't obvious enough before). It won't be Camaro slit (I too hate that tank-like feel in a car), but hopefully it doesn't sacrifice that amazing openness and sightliness that has been a hallmark of 911's since day 1.
Also, good news is that it's apparently riding on just a tweaked MMB platform (didn't know that was the 991 platform code), so it won't be the new mid-engine-derived modular joint venture for all VAG sports cars. A bespoke, 911/rear engine derived chassis designed and built solely by Porsche is important to me.

And I'm sorry, but that interior looks like a DISASTER. Hopefully it's all the crap in it, but I don't think it is. The architecture and placements are very apparent. It reminds me of some "80's robo-tech interior." Like trying to be futuristic whilst trying to retain a classic analogue approach. Coming off confused, too square, boxy, and certainly not sports-car-ish or "purity inspired." I don't care for overt screens as it is, certainly not in a 911, and I hate digital gauges that just look like pixelated and second rate versions of the classy authentic analogues we currently have.... but it's obvious that screen-central approach has massively sacrificed the rest of the interior. The passenger side of the dashboard is this massive slab of square plastic, and the A/C vents have to be the most nonsensical I've ever seen. The substitute to that would've been a horrendous "stick on screen" like M-B's distastefully comical approach, so they were damned if they did, damned if they didn't.
I feel the interior shows, for the first time perhaps in a 911, a lack of the coherency and laser focus on what the car *is* that Porsche have mastered above anyone. It looks more like a mismash of what it *wants you to think it is*, of which it can't make its mind up.
And WTF is that shifter? It looks like it belongs in a huge luxury sedan! And it's the least bit ergonomic. In fact, nothing in that interior looks user or driver focused. I use my center shifter often to manually shift, and love its feel and the "not a manual but still semi visceral" engagement it brings. This new.... "nub thing," certainly will give that up.

That interior is just plain AWFUL on so many levels and now seeing it again only further ensures we are going to be getting something very similar in the final version .....
From the laughable center vent placement to the horribly integrated center screen , the disgusting american car "standard issue" cup holder and whatever that center dashboard plank is, I just don't see what there is to like here.... Am I wrong ?
If I want to stare at giant screens all day I'll just play a racing simulator and speaking of which I wouldn't be surprised to see the engine noise simulated through the speakers similar to what BMW has done ( and been deservedly bashed for).
