2020 NEXT GENERATION 992 SPY PICS & RELEASE

Couple of things, mild hybrid 992 will be PDK only. I only say that because I haven't seen any other manufacturer (since Honda in the early 2000s) integrate a manual transmission in a hybrid
Has there been any news on a manual transmission? I most 991.2 models sell less than 10% of them with manuals (GT3s obviously more), I'm wondering if in the future you can only get a manual in a GT3

Realistically, 992 GTS revealed in 2020 as a 2021MY. I hope it's sooner but I'm not holding my breath.

2 at the earliest and 3 years more likely....If you look at the 718, and the time to the GTS varient release that should give you a sense on the timing for the 992 GTS.
I'm not as big of a fan of the new digital guage cluster and interior redesign so opted for a new 2018 GTS build (apparently not many avaiable).

thank you @phow
So that could be at least 3 years away.So in theory, GTS new cars would dry up.
As of now, my dealer is saying they didn't get any new allocations for 18 GTS.

The only way I would suggest waiting on the 992 is if someone was looking to pick up a new 991.2S right now. The S will surely be one of the first 992 models released and it's just around the corner. I would go with something CPO to hold me over since all 991 models will surely take a hit (especially last year .2's) when the 992 is revealed.
Personally, I'm really glad I went CPO for my first 911. I would have built mine completely wrong if I hadn't had a chance to live with some of these options and figure out what I liked and didn't like.

If I didn't already have my 991 and were getting a 911, I'd skip over the 992 and get a 993 Carrera S. Classic lines, nice 3.6 NA motor and sound, the prices haven't gone crazy like the 993 turbos yet but the value is on the upswing, not on the way down.

I searched and didn't see this posted from a few days ago - https://blog.caranddriver.com/porsch...plug-in-model/
On the 992:
"The manual transmission will remain available, and it will keep the seven speeds."
"Porsche will allow customers to disable the automated rev-match function in the future, though. It’s another example of perfectionism going a bit too far, depriving customers of the satisfaction of their own perfectly executed heel-and-toe shift. "
"As far as body variations are concerned, don’t expect any changes for the 992." Meaning we should expect the same base/s/gts/cab/targa/turbo models I'd bet.
"The 992 is being engineered with a plug-in hybrid derivative, to be launched after the regular models. Achleitner is guarded on the details, but he says that the 992’s hybrid system will not be shared with the Panamera and Cayenne but inspired by the 919 Hybrid LMP1-H race car."
" There won’t be a four-cylinder 911 in the 992 generation"

Look how wide the Turbo is going to be. It's going to look awesome (maybe not to the narrow body fans though).
Those are obviously just temporary fender flares, but it shows how wide the real fenders will be.

Wow, holy hell. Those had better be temporary.

they look like RWB fenders - just missing the showy rivets
