Many comments have been saying its 993 stying. I can see that with the popularity of that generation.

Newer video. Not sure posted.

Front looks flat and defined. Even though the headlights rake more backwards, it looks classic 911. Looks tight on track. Can’t help but comment on it sounding awful and farty to a level where it seems or I’m hoping Porsche is purposely driving it “un-tuned” and extra corked sound wise so as not to give away the soundtrack just yet.

Edit: My first impression was that reminded me of a 718, then when said 718 came on track it sounded surprisingly similar (a little less rasp to it). Porsche wouldn’t surprise launch a 4 in the new 911 would they?

Sounds to me like a corked up base exhaust.

Doubt a 4cy would go in there. That came up with the 991.2 and was shot down by the villagers. I really dont think Porcshe is overly concerned about exhaust sound for some reason. I think they just focus more on the performance aspects. For guidance, look at the Turbo S sound and what had evolved there. Having a rear engine turbo engine presents sound challenges. It is what it is.

I think we can move beyond the sound topic now. We know what it is.

Is it only me, I digged the sound. Then again 991.1 sounds epic than 991.2 (though 991.2 GTS sounds awesome). Can't wait to see 992 in action. Hurry up Porsche and release it.

Can I have your vacuum cleaner?

I wish my carpet cleaner sounded as good as that 992 in the video.

I actually thought it sounded worse than the 991.2. 991.2 isn't bad, just quiet. This sounds very farty.

I have the full speedtech exhaust ( sports cat and xpipe ) on my 991.2 gts, sounds very good. A loud hollow howl.

Sound is subjective, performance is not. I had a Ferrari 458 and a Maserati Granturismo S, they sounded great. I have yet to hear a Porsche that can even come close.

There's a classic commentary from the Radio Le Mans guys - it went something like this:

commentator 1 - there goes the 2nd Porsche RSR, doesn't it sound good

commentator 2 - unfortunately thats the sound of losing
