Some very valid design comments here. Reality is, they aren't designing the 992 for most of the guys and enthusiasts here. They're designing it for emerging markets and people who have yet to step foot into a 911.
China is Porsche's #1 sales market and has overpassed the USA. Says something.

PS. You're totally getting one and taking me for a ride LOL

No, not a buyer. Next car will be a GT something or another ...

Looking forward to it! If the Norelco Shifter, Slurpee Hole, Unibrow lighbar, and third break light zits make it through to production Im gonna hang on to the T for dear life (until I can find an affordable GT3 also ).

China has a much larger population than the USA.

Talking about design and not performance. Performance wise, the 992 will deliver. Porsche's are being designed with its best selling / emerging markets in mind. Porsche chases $$ or Yuan in this case. No secret there. Will not be surprised to see cost savings materials used too.
Although downsizing displacement is a result of EU hysteria.
What does the size of the population have anything to do how well something sells there?? China just overtook Porsche sales over the USA a few years ago. Plenty of companies sell products in China and its not their #1 market.

I know China is Porsche #1 sales market but if we can look to see if China is the #1 market for the 911. I have a feeling it isn’t and they sell a ton of macan, cayenne and panamera there over 911/718. That’s why we’re seeing heavy influence from those models on the 911 where as it used to be the 911s design that drove all other Porsches designs.

That rear spoiler doesn't get any better looking, no matter how many times I see it, particularly from the side. Just an awful design.

It just looks so... unfinished. I kept telling myself it was a placeholder for something much more polished. Then in this most recent video the 3rd brake light showed integrated into said spoiler, and now it's tough to keep deluding myself.

Meh, very few 99x or 98x cars have ever looked good with their spoilers raised. The brake light and cramped greenhouse are bigger issues. If I wanted a Camaro, I could buy three for what this thing will cost.

Having it extend past the roof crease line and around the edge just kills the side lines of the car. It looks so stupid with an open area above the tail lights extending up the side line of the car. It looks about as sporty as a clam shell. Looks like someone left a trunk open.

I'm just surprised how many people are driving in the fast lane (not passing) on the autobahn. Wing looks good.
