Came across this video on Instagram of a 992 mule at night. It’s a short video but gives some idea of the sound. Also you can see how bright the dash is and the light bar appears to go across the rear in its entirety (assuming this a 4s). It’s a public page, so you should be able to view. You may need to click twice for sound.

Great pics, STG!
Eesh. I can't look at that new hoodline and NOT see something forced and clunky looking. It's like they wanted the old 911 hood shutline look, but the old 911's were squared cars, while these new ones (water cooled era) are very curvy, hence why Porsche gave them the "round close" look of classic Porsche's. The square shutline on the 992 as it goes what seems artificially too long, just looks misplaced. It does look better and more harmonious on the finished model, but still, too distracting and forced, if clumsy, to me.
The rear fenders I'm assuming are the C2 fenders. I dunno.... I might be one of the rare ones who thinks it's TOO wide. I don't love how they come out more toward the top, seems unnecessary to me, and makes the rear tires look thinner from the rear view. The 991 C2 fenders are a clean rounded sweep, almost perfectly straight from bottom to top (when looking from the rear) which to me looks better.

Told my spy to go back and get more pics but they were gone! He lost them. Even took a pic with his reflection in the window. Needs more KGB training.
Just giving you a hard time D! He literally just stumbled upon these around where he lives. Crazy. I think the drivers may have been getting a bite to eat. Thanks again for sending them.
Yeah, the white calipers too
Lower bumper looks very finished. Can't get rid of that ugly distance control Cyclops eye??

I'm just not a huge fan of the design carry over from the other models to the 992. I just feel the 911 should have more an identity of its own. Looks like a cross breed of a Cayenne, Panny, and 718. I'm more of a pure bred fan.
Initially they took design cues from the 911 and carried them over to the other models. This time it's the other way around.
It's also as if they're designing cars in conjunction with a marketing plan rather than trying to create something original and beautiful that sells itself. Hard to describe. Sometimes it's nice to design for the sake of design rather than be influenced by a certain worldwide market, etc. Real artists create things that come naturally and that are appreciated for what they are versus creating something the New York or Shanghai crowds will like.
Anyway, the car will sell. I predict it will give a jolt to 911 sales and surpass 991.2 numbers. I think it will have a broader appeal, especially outside the USA.

Also, it's time for their test-mule team to stop kidding around with that 3rd taillight. It was funny, we get it, ha ha. Now cut the BS, and start testing the real thing on public roads...

I like the look from the front and from the side - looks like a 911 - but the rear view doesn't work for me at all, it looks generic or composite, mix of design elements and too fussy.
We all know the 992 will be improved in terms of incremental performance over the outgoing model, however, for 2K if you have the GTS you can get an access port and add 100RWHP to the current GTS - that will be very hard to ignore for those that want power and torque in a package that is already very buttoned down.

Hey great pics STG, thank you!!! Overall I do NOT like the look. Something just says "I have gained wait and I am no longer an athlete or a Porsche sports car". STG you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned that they brought in other feathers from the other models. This is lacking the classic 911 attractiveness.. Even if it drives amazing I will not buy an expensive car if when I walk away I don't turn back to check it out because it looks so fine. This 992 is looking weak for now. Normally I would not be negative. I am a very positive person but I am disappointed in both the rear look and the front look. The profile looks decent except the mirrors. The sound on the above video was muted and feminine, totally unmanly. Go listen to a Corvette or Jaguar, cheaper costing cars but sound so much better than our beloved 911. It is sad to me.
I have owned a 911 or two every year since 1978; that's 30 years of driving 911s and now I am seriously thinking of keeping my 991.1 GTS Cab for a long time. Obviously we need to wait and see the car in person before we pass judgment. The exhaust sound, if they improved on it, could sway most of us to go for it but the examples so far have been more like VW Motors is building our 911.

What’s the latest word on the official reveal? I’ve read LA Auto Show, Paris Auro Show and someone posted that there was a Stuttgart Auto show? Is it actually a set time and place or just wait to see what Porsche brings to the show? I’m ready to see the real thing...

Unless something changes, this atrocity is what you’ll see. Why Porsche would put a less sporty, less ergonomic, less driver focused/tactile shifter in the 911 than the Panamera and Cayenne? I have no %%*! idea.
