Default Octane booster

Hi All,

I’m tired of being forced to use 91 octane fuel in California, specificallly in San Diego. Are nthere alternatives or strategies to get fuel octane levels recommended by Porsche?

You could mix with 100 octane race fuel.

110 is usually leaded, so avoid that.

Boostane but it will leave some residue behind after combustion - nothing is suggested by Porsche

m engineering posted some dyno charts for the .2 GTS that showed identical power output for 91 and 93. don't think you need any boosters.

There are 100 octane locations in SoCal.

They did not post charts, just the claim. I responded to their post asking for confirmation but got crickets. I’m not convinced their claim is substantiated.

Hello, I'm pretty sure we did post charts? Regardless, if we were to make a claim like that we would back it up with data, as we are data-oriented when we share calibration information. We have the ability to datalog these cars with our proprietary software and we have a dyno in-house.
Octane boosters rarely work or add effective octane enough to bump up an octane for your calibration. For the most part, they leave residue behind and quickly foul oxygen sensor and plugs, we strongly do not recommend them. Your best bet is to add octane via race gas, or increase the ethanol content (calibration edit required for that).

Please post said charts. I'd love to be proven wrong and feel no remorse about buying 91 here in Tucson where there's no 93 available. Here's the original thread https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1492...ical-data.html
