992.2 GTS Techart Power Upgrade +60bhp
Got an opportunity to get a power upgrade from Techart. 60bhp and 110NM increase. Has anyone done this yet? No one in the UK has it done yet. Its based in Germany so im hoping there's ppl in Germany had it done.. any feedback of your experience? TIA

It’s a crap JB4 knock-off that merely ‘fakes’ the engine into making power by spoofing external inputs and sensors. Run, don’t walk.
Get a real tune from M: https://www.m-engineering.us/product...-map-switching (no affiliation, just a 2x happy customer)

They are currently working on it.
OP doesn’t specify the car he has. In any case the TechArt option is beyond unworthy. A BMW E92 version is $379, which is $378 too much. https://burgertuning.com/products/n5...formance-tuner

Thanks for the clarification. My response still stands: it’s a crap piggy back add on, essentially faking the ecu into making more power à la JB4 at 10x the cost.
This has been discussed before… wait for M to properly crack the GTS….

Thanks for the feedback guys. Yes i seen the ecu news on that manufacturer. Problem being they haven't done it yet and its based in US when im in UK. Was thinking Techart being a reputable company they'd have done a decent job with their ECU upgrade.
Romeo Ferraris also has a similar solution for the 992.2 GTS +55hp Link
My concern with the ECU-based solutions like M-Engineering is whether they are easily detectable by the dealer or Porsche during diagnostics, which could potentially create warranty issues.
From what I understand, some of the piggyback or external modules might be a safer route for people who want a modest power increase but prefer to reduce the risk of warranty complications. That is why solutions like the TechArt Power Kit or the Romeo Ferraris PowerOne module seem interesting, since they focus on external control modules rather than directly modifying the factory ECU calibration.
Out of curiosity, when you say TechArt is not good, are you speaking from personal experience with their module, or are you comparing it conceptually to a full ECU tune?
My understanding is that the TechArt and Romeo Ferraris systems are piggyback setups, so naturally they will not offer the same level of control as a full ECU flash like M-Engineering. But for owners who still have factory warranty, that tradeoff might actually be the point.

That's a very good price. The Rentech one being £3500. Good thing with the piggyback system it can be sold on when you sell the car or with luck it could be retuned and used with the next car eg a 992.2 turbo s. Mines only 1yr old so keeping a warranty is a must for me.

@Mark21 Please, just don't. Your GTS is a modern marvel of hybrid engineering. To bolt on an overpriced hack for a mere 60hp is (IMHO) an abomination.
Detectable? A piggyback is a box and a pile of wires and connectors that attaches to the engine, so it’s very obviously detectable. It would require an inconvenient uninstallation if you were worried about what the dealer would think.
Experience? I spent years in the BMW E92 tuning community with N54 and N55 engines. Piggybacks were ‘a thing’ before proper tuners like MHD finally cracked the ECU and could correctly modify the fueling and boost tables. JB4 and similar piggyback systems were/are low cost hacks that some would leverage before full ECU tunes were a thing, or if they couldn't afford an ECU remap. Here's an old 718 thread on the topic. To answer your question I don't have any 'direct experience' with piggybacks because they are something I would never touch; instead, I prefer a 'proper' ECU flash by M Engineering (a twice-happy customer). As an example of how overpriced the TechArt is, the JB4 for 992 (didn't even know it existed) is $799.
My extremely strong advice is to wait for M to properly crack the GTS rather than bolt on an embarrassing workaround just to gain a measly 60HP.
