I almost ordered my 992.2 in Provence until saw the color in real life (on a macan). To me, Provence can look very washed out, almost gray, under certain lights.
You can find more examples with a Google search "Porsche 911 Provence"

Saw it on a Panamera and really liked it. The configurator is not close to how it actually looks. It is not as loud or purple in person. I think it would look good on some 911s.
All great advice thanks. This is exactly why I came to the forum. Google can show photos but screens show things differently. First hand knowledge is always important to consider. The comments about it looking Grey are actually a plus to me as I am looking for an exciting color but don't want it to be that loud. My GTS red Cayenne was one of my favorites but I ended up wrapping it because the red was RED even if we know its not as red as Guards etc.
Imagine a slate grey neo with some purple/pink tinter thrown into the mix. As per @6sigma I'd say the configurator has one of the most inaccurate colour rendering I've seen.
Here is Provence and SGN in the same light conditions - both at the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone.

It's not a bad colour but not a great one either!
Provence
Slate Grey Neo
I think I understand. There was a guy who used to live on my block. He had grey hair but if you saw him on his way to work or to dinner, his hair was then grey with a purple sheen.

We have a Provence Macan EV. It’s pretty much lavender. In the light there’s no mistake it’s lavender. Everyone calls it "the purple car". In the dark it does look like slate grey neo but in the dark it’s hard to tell what color is what in the first place. It's a very unique color that you will not find on any other car on the road.
All personal opinion and you should definitely buy what color floats your boat. But growing up in the era of the pink MARY Kay cars, every time I see one of these colors I think of a woman selling makeup products. No hate for these colors, just not my cup of tea.
