The “members/users like me” are trying to offer you helpful advice and provide you with direction on forum etiquette. You will be met with such advice on ANY forum where you post a question about a topic that has been discussed ad nauseum, and it’s evident you didn’t search.

I wasn’t advocating for Stage4. I was advocating for people using the search function and directing inquiries in a concise manner.

pretty sure I did search, hence why I joined the forum and asked my question. Found nothing on stage 4, anywhere. Using Google and the rennlist search. Hence why I made a topic since nothing was found.

lmk if you find anything - I love to be corrected when I’m wrong

Ask and you shall receive.

https://rennlist.com/forums/992-gt3-...ne-and-dp.html

https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1417...n-houston.html

And those Stage4 Tuning discussions were found with about 30 seconds of work. I’m sure there are more.

Does not instill a lot of trust in my mind, as a) it looks like they are tuning more aggressively than ME and others, and b) it offers tunes someone like Scott would probably refuse to do (Flame tune).
You are correct in I would NOT make a flame tune like that or in generally most Pops and Bangs as they add extra fuel and retard the timing to set it off and the shock waves will ruin the cats if it had them and if not often can ruin the mufflers and in the turbos it will destroy the hot side impeller... The funniest ones are when they burn the back bumper areas or melt them lol.

Over my years I must have over 8k in pics of cars Ive built, tuned and taken pics of defects and so on in Porsche or so says my photo app. Some melted bumpers and destroyed cats and turbos from tunes along with engines .....

Hey ‘bro’ Mr-I-joined-this-month-with-8 posts, welcome to the forum. Pro tip: you won’t last here long with an attitude like that. Ppl are trying to be genuinely helpful by pointing to prior discussions and this is the response? Strongly suggest you adjust your approach and show a little humble grace.

I'm going to create one of those spinning wheels that websites use for percentages off and every time someone posts a "which tune should I get" post, use that with the FEW that are viable options to let it decide the answer for them.

I had trouble selecting a tune for a drive in my ‘76 G-body today. I checked Google and this forum, but couldn’t find a single thread discussing it. Anyway, in the end I settled for Red Hot Chili Peppers over Stevie Ray Vaughn.

It's been a very Rage Against The Machine kind of week.

Flames/pops/bangs, all things which are really bad for engines are promoted heavily. Tunes are sold for clout, and are not based off of data. You have to be very careful with some of the flashy flame tunes out there. It is actual pretty unreal some of things we have seen in tuning files that we have read out on the bench from other companies. Lots of stuff that is very harmful to the health of the motor. We even have seen several other tuners all have identical tune files because they are simply all purchased from the same server.

When purchasing/choosing a tune, consider the history and background of the company, as well as how the data acquisition is done and how the product is improved. You want to find tuners that have some presence online with cars in their shop running on a dyno collecting data etc. If you see a "tuner" only post numbers, no real graphs, no photos of their facility, or no photos of data gathering, no cars they have tuned, chances are they are only reselling tunes that they purchased elsewhere and did not do any of the hard work. If you are sold a tune with a device that can't datalog or gather info, how will the tuner look at cars running in the field or on the track to improve their product over time? Hint, they generally aren't doing any tuning at all and they don't improve their product.

We at M-Engineering pride ourselves in the hard work and data we gather for our calibrations. Our tuning philosophy is always engine safety first, and power second. It also just so happens to be that when you apply that philosophy, you can have a great running car that also just happens to make more power as a result of doing thing methodically and carefully. This strategy has allowed us to also partner with manufacturers like Porsche Motorsport directly as we have done many race series and also set records in Porsches at events like Pikes Peak. We also pride ourselves in being the first to market to figure out OBD flashing on the 992. I could go on and on but I just want to leave it at that. It's the betterment of the product over time that sets others apart.

Perhaps we can work on a video series here where we go over some other tune files we've seen and also what sets the right files apart. I also would like to show you guys all what goes into making these calibration files as it's a big undertaking by a number of people in the team.

how can I get in contact with you? I have tried to call and leave a voicemail, I’ve tried email, DM on IG and a comment on IG! I wanted to reflash my car to take off rev limiter and other options that I forgot to add when the tune file was sent to my shop MPI. But I can’t get ahold of anyone! Pls help!

Send them an email reply to the email they originally sent you your tune file, I believe it's the calibration@ email but double check. They are super responsive and get back to you at least by the next day.

That is quite odd as we have a team of people that make sure customers get responses quickly. If you want email info@m-engineering.us or even email me direct and I can get you sorted out. Mitch@m-engineering.us

Cheers and sorry for any delay we will take a look at what is going on.

Sorry about any issues, I see your DM on IG but I don't see any emails or missed voicemails on my end. Happy to help out any way we can. The best way to get ahold of our calibration team for a map edit is calibration@m-engineering.us or our general email which is info@m-engineering.us. Just be sure to let us know your VIN and requests and we can have a map made super quickly.
