Help/Advice on Carrera T Build
Greetings, first time poster and long time lurker!
Was hoping that the Porsche experts could offer some advice on a build I am doing. Would be a PTS in either Gulf or Meissen blue and first Porsche. Was contemplating a ZO6 but figured it is now or never to go with a Porsche. What are some of the must haves? Off the top of my head it should include: 1. Front axle lift 2. Extended range fuel tank 3. Power steering plus 4. Surround view 5. Sport chrono 6. Sport design 7. Matrix headlights 8. Lane change assist i have others on the build but was wanting advice on seats. Are inserts only on a certain seat or can any of them be swapped out? What exhaust would you go with? Soul? Something else? Thanks for any and all advice offered! Brandon |
I’d delete power steering plus and add Bose sound system.

You're highly unlikely to get a PTS slot. They only do the PTS runs a couple times a year.

Thanks for the video. I did watch that when he dropped it.
reached out already to a dealer and was told I could get one with no problem. Thanks! |
Thanks! I meant to put the bose system down and forgot!

If you have the opportunity for a PTS slot don’t delay, your answer should be yes, here is my deposit and basic spec and see what happens, meaning whether it is accepted and you have a confirmed PTS allocation. My experience is that you’ll need the dealer GM support to confirm the PTS allocation with PCNA.
When you have an interesting color you don’t need much else really. Sport design package will complicate the build and may put you at a lower chance for the PTS allocation. At the time of my PTS acceptance on a base Carrera I was told by the GM that a Carrera with sport design and a GT3 were not accepted. Black contrasts well with either Meissen or Gulf. Yes power steering plus and Bose. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...5cb51dd24.jpeg |

I had front axle lift on on my 2025 GTS but I don't have it on my 26 T. I was talked into it by the dealer on the 25 but found that I never needed it where I live so I didn't get it on the 26T. If you have a steep driveway entry or live in an area with a lot of dips and changes in road height you should get it. If you are planning to lower the car it would be good to have also. If not that's a lot of money that can be spent on something else.
I think everyone would agree that sport chrono is a must but everything else is a matter of taste. |
Thanks. I will confirm with the SA. What seats are recommended? Can any seat be changed with inserts later from a shop? I thought it was only a specific seat (bucket)?
Thanks again! |
Pretty sure only bucket inserts can be easily swapped.

LWB seats are the most significant option in terms of driving difference and feel. My favorite option by far and was the only mandatory one.

FAL cost buys more than a few new chin spoilers in the event you scrape bad enough to damage one. A 911 has excellent sightlines and IMO, surround view is not needed, ditto Steering plus. If you drive distances I'd be willing to bet you'll wish you never got the LWB seats and unless you're going to heavily track the car, they're not needed either. I have tracked my 992.1 T 9x at Watkins Glen with the 4 way sport seats and they're more than adequate and comfortable enough for 6 straight hour drives (to Montreal for the Canadian GP).

Extended range fuel tank - for the price this is a no brainer, I really enjoy having to rarely fill the car up 3. Power steering plus - I have this as well and I think it is worth it for the nominal cost, easy steering for parking 4. Surround view - I did not get this, I wish I did get it though 5. Sport chrono - This was included in the CarreraT base price 6. Sport design - I got the full aero/sd kit. the wing I could go either way on. I think the SD front bumper is much nicer 7. Matrix headlights - I got these as they look nicer than base, but Matrix functionality is limited in the US...which is a shame 8. Lane change assist - I got this as well and I think it's worth having, in fact this in 2025 should really be standard feature on all cars Another thing to consider is either full leather interior package, or the full CarreraT interior. The plastic/pleather on door cards and dash on standard package is mehh. Porsche crests on seats. Race-tex headliner. |
Thanks everyone! Will go to my saved builds and go over everything!
