Despite I owned two 992s in the past, I never joined PCA, so I decided to join the club and will give it a shot for a year. I'm in Northern CA,
I've met some great folks with some beautiful cars, and gone on some great club drives with our local chapter. Your local chapter should reach out to you soon and invite you to a local cars and coffee. Highly recommended to meet some good people with the same hobby. Panorama magazine is always interesting too.
And if you're in far Northern CA, come to ours in Medford next Saturday!

Welcome to PCA. I am a member for 10 years or more. 993, 928, 997, and now a 992.
Each region within Zone 7 has their own vibe. I am in the Bay area so there was a few to choose from. Golden Gate likes lots of racing and track and motorsports, whereas Diablo Region does more social, driving, and gathering type events.
I choose Diablo as the events I wanted to attend.
the Panorama Magazine is great.
National events like Werks Reunion are good too.
Parade is the national "conference". Ive been to 2 of those, not really my cup of tea.

Im in the Golden Gate and would like to change to Diablo - their events are more aligned with my likes. Any idea if this is feasible and how to go about this? Must admit, I havent done any research on it but the thought came to me after I stumbled upon your post.

Just send an email to PCA and they will change it for you. It's not necessary though as you can do events with any chapter regardless of which chapter you're a part of.

My wife and I have made many great friends through PCA. About five couples we met through club social events and drives and five I met at the track and then friendships extended to the couples. Plus many track friends - everyone knows and pretty much likes everyone else even beyond the cars. Track also brings regions together.
The full range of activities offers something for almost everyone- from fine dining to racing and everything in between.
Panorama alone is also worth the cost. As mentioned, dealer service discounts if you are a dealer service person. PCA Mart is also useful.
Can't beat it IMO. Welcome.

Welcome to the party @ICU !
I've seen Panorama (the club magazine) editions that were so good that a single one felt worth the annual fee.
Lots of great people at events, really interesting to get to know people from all kinds of life and career paths, great too for networking whether just to find good shop recommendations and much more.
Only one Chapter in the Last Frontier, alas not worth the hassle given the recent board members.
Not forgetting that when one needed some support from PCA they were brilliantly silent. Nice magazine but who has time to read these days? And the yearly membership is a bag of dog food... just saying.
Best $55 you can spend on your Porsche. i've been a member for 51 years and some of my closest friends I met through PCA. Sorry to hear about Alaska's issues.
