EXACTLY what I was going to link! If I had a new 992, I'd change the oil at 500, 1,000 and probably 5,000 miles. THEN I'd do 'em every year or 10k, depending on mileage.

 

First year, regardless of the miles, then 10K or 1 year, the way the engineers that designed the engine recommends. Even if you believe that Porsche is trying to make money from excessive service intervals (engineers be damned), I don't want to gamble unfounded sentiment against the manufacturer's recommendations.

BTW, my first oil change was free.
