My $0.02 worth. Sell them both.
I'm not sure when you (or anyone else) would grab for the GTS keys over the GT3, and I'm sure you'd get a nice amount for the GTS these days.
Realistically, are you really going to drive the boxster often enough to be worth the space, insurance, time/energy?
I realise its easier said than done.

Good point. I don’t know that I would choose either over a GT3.
I would think to trade the GTS but if you have rear seats then I would keep the GTS with no point having 2 cars that are 2 seaters. Or you should ask Will Motivation since he has both a 992 GTS and a 992 GT3 and see what his thoughts are.
I took delivery of my 992.2 GT3 manual, buckets 2 days ago. I traded in a GT4 PTS, buckets, manual. I kept my 992.1 GTS. It is a cabriolet though, PDK, also with the 18-ways. It is of utmost importance that I have a back seat for my small daughter so the whole family can participate in Porsche fun. I feel like there is enough difference between the two cars to justify keeping both for me and my family. If it wasn’t for your kids, I’d say keep the boxter, because it is a different experience. Smaller, mid engine, convertible. For the sake of your kids and their participation though, I say keep the GTS. There are also definitely plenty of times you’d grab for the GTS keys too, like running errands, and there are times you will want to just chill and have a relaxed drive.
Similar situation: I had a 991.1S and a 981S Cayman. Sold them both during COVID while market was high and ordered new 992.1S. The 991.1 S value appreciated over what I paid for it. Broke even on the 981S. Only you can answer your question though.

I have 2.1 GTS, with 7 spd. I saw his video. I’m tempted to keep GTS at least for now. It may change after I receive GT3. Plus I drive my GRS very frequently, almost 10k miles ( relative no for 911s)
Your GTS is worth a lot now. Due to the volatility of the current economic context, that may change quite quickly. I'd cash in on it now, keep the Boxster for a while, and sell it you find you aren't driving it.
Having two 992 RWD coupes as both your fun cars would certainly lack variety.
On the other hand, I find the spec of your Boxster a bit meh (no offense, I don't love the wheels and black cars aren't my thing), whereas the GTS is really well specced. Though if you sell both, you'll owe less on the GT3, and you will drive it more.
I can empathize with the difficulty of the OP's decision here. Letting go of these cars sometimes is almost like letting go of one of your kids. I did a '24 Cayenne base to '24 Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid upgrade and the TEH was so obviously "more of everything", I don't miss the base.
However when I thought I'd do the same thing and upgrade the 992.2 base to a 992.2 GTS without trading the base in first... now I'm having a really difficult time letting the base go. The GTS just drives so surprisingly differently. It's got all the options I wish the base had, but the base has its own charm and character the GTS lacks (mainly the engine sound).
You CAN keep both the GTS and Cayman when the GT3 arrives and see then if one fills a gap or one feels redundant. But don't be surprised if even an overlap like this doesn't "feel" redundant:
I have a 992.1 GTS 7 spd and a 2013 Boxter S 6 spd.
I have a 2.2 GT3 coming this fall.. hopefully everything goes well.
I have to sell either 2.1 GTS or 13 Boxter S for my garage space primarily and to use that equity towards GT3.
I love both cars and finding it difficult to decide to let go of which one. My head says to sell 2.1 GTS ( more money towards GT3) and heart says sell 13 Boxter.
My GTS has Vossen wheels, jcr exhaust, ppfd etc and my Boxter is primarily stock except 200 cell cats and
comb tune. What would you sell if you were in my situation.
This is a tough call because most reviews I’ve seen for the 992.2 GT3 say it’s more compliant than the 992.1. Question is are you okay w/ a rougher ride for a daily? Having not driven a GT3 (only been a passenger on track), I’ve been told by ppl who have driven the 992.1 GT3, that they are somewhat harsh as a daily. Considering that the GTS is “crashy” even in non-sport mode, can you tolerate a possibly rougher ride? I’m fine w/ the C4GTS as a daily, but I don’t think I could tolerate much more than that as a daily. If you’re in this camp then sell the Boxster, hold on to the GTS. If the 992.2 GT3 is okay as a daily, sell the GTS too.
Otherwise…. sell both, put the money into the GT3. Sometime later pick up a 981/982 if you still feel the need…
Have both a 992.1 C4GTS and 718 Cayman GT4 and alternate btwn the two, just depends on what I feel like driving that day. The GTS is a 7MT that I will never give up. The GT4 is PDK for both track and daily. Note, I find the GT4 to be more compliant than the GTS. Both are easily daily cars.

You will be sad if you give up your GTS. If you don't need the money for the deposit on the GT3-- don't give it up. That car is irreplaceable (a beautiful non- hybrid manual GTS with your specs) and you seem to love it. You may get more money now--or maybe even later--who knows ---but once it's gone it's gone.
