Default Cxx Carrera T - worth it?

I inquired on potentially doing special wishes on my PTS T allocation. I was approved for it, but it would push my allocation from September production to March.

Has anyone here had any experience doing Cxx on a Carrera variant? I know GT cars normally get priority for Sonderwunsch, but would it be worth it on a Carrera? My build is already $180k with PTS & given the now mandatory $25k minimum for Cxx, I’ll be over $205k at minimum.

I originally inquired on seeing if I could add PCCB’s & heritage cognac or bespoke interior combo (inserts/stitching), but cxx does not allow any hardware changes. Only cosmetic.

$205k is pretty steep. It would even be a few thousand more than the MSRP on my last GT3.

There is some risk as well. I was told there is a chance of losing PTS altogether as the dates move around a lot during the Cxx process.

Anyone spend $25k+ on Carrera trim car? Is it worth it?

If you're building the car as a keeper and want something unique, I say go for it. You'll have a truly individual car.

These opportunities are pretty rare it seems. In the end it's your money and time to decide what it's worth.

I'd do it, a CXX T will be extremely rare + I'd use the opportunity to remove as many of the cringeworthy / tacky visual elements that the T forces upon you as I could. Also the only way to get a non-black interior from factory. No guarantees, but if the PTS is already approved, I think Porsche will try to work to keep it with the CXX if they can.

I wouldn’t do it, seems like a delay of 6 months + minimum 25k in MSRP bump. Different folks for different strokes.

Do it.
My T was 135 or so. I'm in the process of putting about $50-60k in mods.
Some people are on a budget or try to rationalize these decisions.
If you're not on a budget, and you're in a position to indulge your wishes, do it.
It'll be a super special car.
As for PTS vs CXX, it's just a matter of deciding what's more important to you.

My ideal T would be either total stripper spec OR pts + custom seats and door cards. I’ve thought about doing the same. It is annoying you still won’t be able to add pccb or nice wheels

Are you asking if it's stupid because it's a T and it's stupid to spend this much on a T?

I don't think it makes a difference if you do the same CXX on an S or GTS, your base price will just be higher. I presume you picked a T because you want a manual?

From a resale perspective, anyone willing to spend that much on a T is going to want to customize it their way.

I don't think it's worth it, but I think a lot of people love the build process and being able to customize. I think Porsche is the cheapest manufacturer that allows this level of customization, maybe that's why it's so popular.

This is one of those decisions where it's so personal that if you have to ask, then it's probably not worth it.

Because if it was, you would just do it.

Good luck either way.

I don’t really care about ROI with the decision. Most Cxx cars are so individualized, I doubt anyone who builds one is doing it for the next guy.

I’ll probably contradict myself here… but I can afford Cxx & would love to do it… It’s just knowing how much I’m paying for a non-GT car if that makes sense. $180k is already dumb money for a base 911.

What really had me second guessing was when I was approved for special wishes & I was told PTS is not guaranteed (depending on Cxx timeline). I’ve had bad luck acquiring PTS in the past including losing it once before. Who here would take Cxx over PTS?

My car is v200 with PTS currently.

Also agree that it’s annoying hardware options like PCCB can’t be added. That would have made it an easier decision. I’m not very familiar with pricing on all the cosmetic Cxx options. Does anyone have first hand Cxx experience on interior options?

I have my sights on doing a heritage interior in cognac or cohiba. I’ve seen some special wish interiors ranging from $50k to $150k, so I assume a two-tone heritage interior will be well over the $25k minimum alone. I don’t have a lot of self control haha… I’ll probably end up close to $220-230k if I keep it light.

CXX interiors are pretty expensive. Went with a two tone classic cognac myself and spent a lot of time trying to figure out which “packages” to go with and which weren’t that worth it. IIRC I’m in around 44k. Could’ve easily added another 20k to that. Feel free to PM me if you have questions I can try to help

Heritage interior is a dime a dozen on special edition cars.
I also don't think it suits the personality of a T. Just my opinion. YMMW.
I say PTS all the way, especially since you haven't had it before.
That will make your T very, very special.

Unless you really want the window sticker to show the CXX components, I’d keep the PTS slot and take your CXX wish list to Frank at Exclusive Options. He can literally do any interior modification you could get via the CXX process at equal or better quality. Their work is amazing.
