Found this the other morning and have no idea how. Don’t recall hitting anything or any noticeable issues, and yet the top corner tip of the window (the part that is burrowed in the rubber gasket) was cracked from the inside, and now the crack has spread across the top. Window goes up and down straight with no instructions or bumps along the way. This is a 2022 992.1 GT3. Anyone else seen this?
I have not seen that but I have experienced a few times when working on my car that there are situations where the window can be all way up aka not retracted a little to allow to close and then lift to go under door seal. When this happens, you are in danger to slam the glass against the upper window seal when closing. Since I have seen that happen I always close the door slowly after working on my car that involved removing the battery or reset the window settings.
"Lightweight by design Thanks to extensive use of lightweight materials, the new 911 GT3 weighs virtually the same as its predecessor. Lightweight glass in all the windows, the lightweight stainless steel Sport Exhaust system and optimized brake discs along with a LiFePO4 starter battery contribute to the ambitious weight target The battery alone saves roughly 22 lbs compared to the battery in the previous 911 GT3. The result: a weight-to-power ratio of 6.23 lb/hp for the manual transmission model."
