Agreed! The Softronic tune is the best bang for the buck at $1,500.

It was $1,459 during the Group Buy time period that ended about two weeks ago.

I have no doubt the Softronic tune is good. I went with M-Engineering because they are local to me and Charles and his crew came from Cobb. Super responsive guys and I love that I can tune and untune in 5 minutes. With my BRE exhaust, and Soul 2nd Gen cats the Stage 2 tune is ridiculous. Car went from 473 HP to 580 WHP. it’s more than I really use most of the time. However, when I want to shoot a gap and really move, it doesn’t really matter what speed I’m already at, it just pulls.

+1

These tunes totally transform the turbo cars in such a profound way.

If you're planning to tune, just do it. So worth it.

Yes, tuned mine just after break in miles. I remove it if I have to go to the dealer. If Flat 6 is making 700 hp+ on these engines I'm not too worried about a Stage 1 tune.

Sport cats really improve the turbos’ performance. Also make the exhaust louder so the 992 sounds like an actual Porsche rather than a Camry. @M3Inline6 seems to be taking the systematic approach that is stereotypical turbo engine modification, uncork both ends of the engine and tune to take advantage of that reduced restriction.

Better intake, colder air charge, less restrictive exhaust and tune.

Yes, mid 600 WHP should be available with the S/GTS turbos and a custom tune. After that they will run out of boost. You won’t get to 700 WHP without an aftermarket turbo upgrade. The tune will need to be custom. OTS tune is not likely to get you there because it’s not optimized for all the mods.

I have sport cats going on in a few days. Tune and BMC filters already make the turbo sounds much louder. I should have mentioned that 700 hp is with aftermarket turbos but still the same engine so it's very stout. I don't plan to change turbos, the Softronic tune retains the benefit of the small turbo spool but just much stronger. On the road you are rarely above 5k RPM anyway which is where most of the extra power comes in from the larger turbos.
