Default Dealership collecting car

After decades of taking my cars into dealerships myself for service appointments, I've agreed to have Porsche San Francisco collect and drop off my 911 for some maintenance work.

It will be driven by their "porter" apparently who does it every day.

Should I be worried?

I've had my BMW dealer picking up my cars forever with no problems. From my 3 series up to my M8.

Only if they drive through the Tenderloin to get there.

Don’t watch ‘Ferris Buellers Day Off’ any time soon.

Our cars should be self-driving so they can take themselves in for service and record the work being done.

It’s time to sell the car. Replace it with something you wouldn’t want a “porter” to drive.

A couple weeks into ownership of my 992.2 its modem stopped communicating. I'm 4.5 hours from the nearest dealership. Porsche NA had Porsche Beaverton (Portland area) pick it up and they sent an absolutely first class driver and vehicle setup to collect it. They got it back to me in just a couple days. If your dealer is as good as Beaverton, you're in great hands.

My car recently had a 3yr service at Porsche SF and returned to me with the oil at 2/3. That's why it going back in. Not sure if it's incompetence or an oil level sensor issue. Doubt it's a leak.

I had the same oil level issue at my last oul change. Came back not full and was told that’s how they normally fill it even though the last couple of times it always came back full. Inconsistent readings from car to app. Feels like dodgy electronics to me. If only there was a dipstick….

Interesting. How was it resolved? Oil change redo?

I’ve had my car picked up by a porter and by Porsche roadside. I think I prefer the porter of those two.

My dealer also has their own pickup and delivery guy/truck and that would be my overall preference.

Take a photo of your mileage before and compare it to mileage after.
